Energy Saving Products

There are many products on the market which help you to save energy. If you live in West Alness and have had gas central heating installed in the last 10 years you are likely to have a digital timer which looks like this

Follow the link to the left of this page for a plain english guide to setting this.

Another device to save you energy and money is an eco kettle - incorrect use of kettles can cost you up to 50 a year in wasted electricity! See the links on the left for more information about these and other energy saving (and money saving!) devices.

Energy Saving tips

What temperature

should my hot water be?

Water should reach a minimum of 60C once to kill the legionella bug.

Some boilers do not have a

temperature scale  displayed so seek advice if unsure. If your display shows more than 70C you can afford to turn it down, this will save energy and money.
