Pupils in Alness Academy were invited to draw up designs for a gadget which could save energy. Brid talked to the very active eco group in the school and to the form assemblies. Entries ranged from solar powered cookers to games consoles run on rubbish!

The overall winner put a lot of thought into his device that stores solar energy during the day to be used later to power the light fittings. He took the time to work out how his panel will attach to the light fittings and showed a great understanding of circuits for his age group.
