Eco Kettles

Incorrect use of kettles can cost homes up to £50 a year in wasted electricity.

Often when boiling a kettle extra water is heated. This then cools down and is reheated the next time you want a cuppa. This is obviously a waste of energy and money.

Most people are reticent to put only a cupful of water into a kettle in fear of not covering the element resulting in the kettle blowing. Eco Kettles have smaller more powerful elements.

They can also have 2 chambers, one which is filled and a separate one for boiling. The idea is that only the required amount of water is moved to the boiling chamber so no extra water is heated.

Other Eco Kettles operate on the almost the same principle as a combi boiler, only heating water as it passes over an element.
